Intercultural Connections Series with Mick Moloney (November 2020)
The Flanagan Brothers were among the most brilliant and colorful Irish performers in America in the 20th century. Mick Moloney, who met Mike Flanagan in the late 1970s and helped make the brothers’ music accessible to a new generation of Irish musicians, gives a presentation on the family’s most memorable story, complete with video clips of Mike talking about their performances in New York in the 1920s, as well as many audio recordings from their huge repertoire of songs, tunes, and vaudeville‐style skits.
Musician and folklorist Dr. Mick Moloney presents the fifth edition of Intercultural Connections, his popular lecture series exploring the contributions of Irish artists in a global context
