Masterclass: Solo Clawhammer Banjo with Ryan McAuley, Saturday, Oct 19, 2024 1:00PM

 

This masterclass will focus on approaching clawhammer banjo as a solo art form, with an emphasis on tone, dynamics, repertoire, and enhancing melodic playing.

 

This class will be aimed at intermediate to advanced players. Participants must already be comfortable  with the "bum-ditty" technique and have the ability to learn by ear.

 

This masterclass is offered as part of a residency with Alfi, the Dublin-based trio who will perform at Oíche Shamhna / An Irish Halloween and in IAC's Café Concert Series.
